Sri Sathya Sai Baba " Do you know Puppet " We had no idea what swami was referring to in his interview room but he was about to change our whole lives. The great puppeteer.
We were in London on our wonderful converted Barges having a settled life, what could go wrong? We sold painting as quickly as they came off the easel, we could easily afford to go to India to see Sathya Sai Baba by now we had formed a working relationship with him, and our belief was that he really was a "man of miracles" his hospitals, collages both for men and women were outstanding. As he said "My Life is my Message"Then like a dark cloud, the water authority manager said too me " I am going to own those Barges " How could this happen I asked myself? The answer came very shortly, a 200% increase in our licence fee, at that time all boats had to pay a licence which the UK Government had not regulated. A meeting was held with the water authority and after much Argy-bargy it was agree that they might purchase them. We needed a break from authority and decided to go to our much loved Baba to seek his advice and cry on his shoulder. By his grace we gained an interview explaining our position in London. I told him of the authorities plans and they had offered 50% of the value of the Barges and stopped other e purchasing them. Baba said NO 15% of the value, I said "No Baba 50% he looked again at us and reiterated 15% .Some time later and back in London we parted with our beautiful boats for 15% of the value! However with a sigh of relief we were free to work on the life story. Of Sri Sathya Sai Baba
